I'm also excited about the upcoming Tinsel and Treasures Folk Art Show and Sale, Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, 9 am - 2 pm, in downtown Danville. I am creating all sorts of Halloween pieces and I can't wait to see what the other artists will bring. There will be such an assortment of art from women I am lucky enough to call my friends. Beware of the Gypsy Fortune Teller!

As part of the eBay EHAG (Eclectic Halloween Artists Group) Creative Art Challenge, I created a gypsy fortune teller booth. The theme this time around was a Halloween carnival. Although she isn't scary, what she may tell you after looking into your future may be frightful!

You are Invited to ZNE Art Paperie & Pleasantries, Aug. 24, 2008

I'm getting ready for the ZNE Art Paperie & Pleasantries Art Fair, where I'll have a booth filled with Halloween goodies, extra embellishments and vintage supplies. It's all part of ZNE ConvenZioNe 2008. I'll be teaching at the 2009 ConvenZioNe event, April 29 - May 3, 2009, and am excited about all the details! Lots of wonderful teachers this year including my dear friend Gina Gabriell of Eleven Morning. Hope to see you at some point over the weekend, but especially  on  Sunday, August 24, from 11 am to 5 pm. Look for  me!

Some of my Halloween items that are now available on PfattMarketplace.com. I am working, working to have more to offer for many coming events: Tinsel and Treasures Folk Art Show, ZNE ConvenZioNE 2008 Art Paperie & Pleasantries.

I wonder if you think this is somewhat macabre. I lost my precious Brianna and yet I create this creepy art? Brianna loved Halloween just as much as I do. She would always comment, "Oh mom, that one is really cool!" or "How did you do that?" I need to continue with this theme, not just for me, but for her too. There are some things I cannot work with in the Halloween genre. They are too painful and reminders of the terrible loss we have suffered. But there is still a wealth of images that are slightly sinister, a little quirky and  maybe  odd or just fun that I can work with and know she is okay with it.

To all of my friends, especially to my artist friends who are amidst the busy time of year, take time with your family this fall.

And, as promised, some photos of our new home. When my studio is finished getting organized, I will invite you in. But for now...Our fountain finally has a wonderful spot in the backyard under the Asian Pear trees loaded with fruit.

Creating Halloween Pieces for Upcoming Tinsel and Treasures Show

I was able to sell again at the August Downtown Pleasanton 1st Wednesday Street Party tonight. I'll be bringing some of my Halloween works. I'm concentrating on fall creations right now, like Mr. Skeleton Dandy on the left. He's currently for sale on eBay. You can head on over to my auctions to see him and some other Halloween themed pieces I have available for auction.

OR, if you're not the auction type, I do have a few things in my Etsy store (see my right side bar store), as well. I'm working frantically to have lots of goodies available for the upcoming Tinsel and Treasures Show, a fanciful folk art show, Saturday, September 13, in downtown Danville. Check out the website to see who the amazing artists will be that I will be joining at the event. I'm so happy to be a part of the fun!

Also, I've added a little widget to my sidebar from the wonderfully talented Catherine Moore of Character Constructions. She is very sweet and offered one of her stamp plates for the first 20 to add the widget to their blogs. Of course I jumped at the chance to get another one of her creative stamps, and now I'm the pleased owner of one from her mad tea party collection. Can't wait to use it!!

We're getting a little more settled in our home. Still have boxes to unpack, but I have no where to put the stuff! So during this busy time, they may be staying in boxes for a while.

Fortunately, we've bought a storage shed and will be setting it up. Oh how I'd love to fill it up with my studio supplies!! But my dear husband won't allow that, since we have lots of other items that need to go in, i.e. bicycles, lawn equipment, you name it! The two garage bays we have are filled with gym equipment and tools. Garages in California are for storage, not cars silly! I'll be able to sneak a few boxes in the shed though. Maybe even more than a few! I do realize that I am fortunate to have one whole room in our home that I can call my studio.
