It's that time of year when we artists are making wondrous goodies for the holidays, filling orders and creating for upcoming shows. So I decided it was a great time to join a swap, or two. Well, silly me, I had too much on my plate and thus got my swap items out late - imagine that! But I have to say, these were great fun and I am so glad I joined.
Hosted by Dani Nelson of Ambitions Design, I joined a tombstone trade and ATC swap. Of course, I jumped at the chance to join the group of talented artists and several of my EHAG fellow artists.
The tombstone swap was a call to artists who sculpt. Only 10 were allowed to join the fun and the idea is that we all trade over the years to ultimately collect a mantle full of little tombstones to display for All Hallow's Eve. Being that I love all things Halloween, I couldn't wait. Well, all things considered, I was a little late in getting my tombstone out to my trade partner Amelia Schaefer of Sweet B Folk Art. But I hope she is pleasantly surprised by what's inside the parcel she'll receive.
First, I have to show off the most darling little tombstone Amelia made for me. She is all about confections of the candy sort and her whimsical touch is all over the piece she sent. If you read the epitaph, it says "Here Lies Roland Leets, who gorged himself on his sister's sweets. From him there is a lesson learned, how poisonous a sweet not earned." LOVE it! Thank you Amelia for such a clever piece. I will cherish it, EHAG sister!
She also was my ATC swap partner and sent a darling card pictured below. I, however, did not take any pictures of the cards I sent out, so I apologize.
But I did get a quick shot of the little tombstone I created for Amelia and I hope she likes my take on the swap idea.
It's made of sculpey, and that little black thingy on the branch is a miniature crow for the departed Mr. Poe. (I told you it was a quick snapshot!)
I look forward to next year's swap and I promise I will get my swaps out earlier. No more last-minute Lucy for me!
I hope you are all enjoying the fall with your families....Iva
Oh Iva... They are great! I had no idea you could sculpt like that! I hope I get you next year!! Thanx for joining, can't wait til the next time.

Good Evening Miss Iva, Those stones are so cute!!!! It's so fun to look at how we all made them so different. That what makes the swap so fun!
Hope you are well with you my dear.
