I am still basking in the highly spirited day we had Saturday at our little Tinsel and Treasures Show. What a wonderful few hours filled with friends, new faces and of course the art! Quite honestly, I am somewhat in disbelief.
You prepare for an event for months and finally the day arrives. Your nerves are a twitter and you just don't feel completely ready for the big opening. And suddenly, it's time! Imagine our surprise when we realize there's a line to get in! So many smiling faces ready to see what delights await inside created by my talented friends. It was all that I had hoped for and so much more!
Of course, there would not have been a show had it not been for the six women who agreed to take part in this first-time endeavor.
Pictured below from left, me, Connie Govea Stuart, Ulla Milbrath, Colleen Moody, Gina Gabriell, Sylvia Anderson and Donna O'Brien had beautiful displays and magical offerings for those who ventured out to the Danville Women's Club.
Unfortunately, I was so busy, I didn't get a chance to take other photos. But visit the blogs and websites of these lovely ladies and you'll find images of the day's events. Colleen was able to capture photos of our lively dinner the night before. What fun we had talking, laughing, sharing, eating and drinking at one of downtown Danville's great restaurants, the Peasant and the Pear.
Also, a big thanks to all the businesses who offered to pass out our postcards and display our poster. There are so many people who helped and encouraged us along the way, we are ever grateful! We were fortunate enough to gain the attention of several newspapers too. The Danville Weekly ran a story about the show, as did the San Ramon Valley Times. And, thanks to my dear husband, the San Francisco Examiner ran a short brief about us.
Of course, my appreciations and gratitude goes to all who came to see us and purchase our art. I met new customers and chatted with long-time ones. It was so nice to see everyone. Many accomplished artists also arrived to see us, like the Holiday Queen Melissa, the talented Tinsell and Whimsy Sue Bartolucci, the effervescent A Whimsical Bohemian Lisa Swifka, the sweet Running with Scissors Terisa Brooks-Huddleston, the ZNE ConvenZione Queen herself Chelise Stroud Hery, Past Present Collection Heather Bullard and so many more!
Thank you everyone for making this a special day. My Brianna would have loved to be a part of it. I missed her much in the days leading up to, during and after the show. She would have squealed with delight at everything. But I carry her in my heart, and so I know she was there with me.
My hat is off to all of you for your caring, kindness and support. Thank you all...Iva
Congratulations Iva!
I wish that I could have been there to support you and your talented artists. I have heard wonderful comments by my customers who were able to attend. Bravo!!! on a job well done.

I have found a few blogs with pictures of the show. Everything looks amazing and would have loved to been able to attend. I also read the story of your beautiful daughter. It touched my heart and am so pleased that so many raised money in her name. Blessings to you.
