My studio has become a winter wonderland as I create holiday ornaments, gifts and keepsakes for several coming events. This little beeswax sweetie is a sneak peek of what I'll have available for purchase.
• Thursday, November 13: I will be one of three artists featured during Cottage Jewel Antiques Holiday Open House. It's all part of the "Spirit of Danville," from 5 pm - 9 pm, when downtown Danville merchants come together to host holiday open houses, raise funds for worthy causes and kick off the Christmas shopping season. Join Colleen Moody, Charlene Geiger and I for festive holiday folk art, dolls and antiques as we sip hot cider and enjoy pumpkin soup together.
• Saturday, November 15: There is still room for my "The Buzz About Beeswax" class at My Daughter's Wish. From 10 am - 1 pm I'll lead you through the creation of a fall collage using beeswax and show you several techniques (non of which involve hair removal- LOL!). Head over to the the store's calendar , look for Nov. 15 and click on the class title for information about signing up and the basic supplies list.
• Saturday, November 22: HollyDaze and Vine Christmas Folk Art Show will be decked out in holiday glitter as more than 20 artisans share and sell their art. This will be my first time at the show, and I'm so excited to be included. The event will be held at the Petaluma Women's Club, 518 B Street, Petaluma, from 9 am - 3 pm, $5 admission. Look forward to seeing you there!
Iva, I just love your creations & I so want to take your beeswax class, but I live in So Ca, close to Pomona & only wish you were going to be some place within driving range. I found your website close to Halloween & tried to bid on several of your projects on ebay, but not ever trying that before, I didn't know the ropes & lost out...would you ever consider opening up an esty shop (I do know how to buy that way, or so my credit card says)? I've always wanted to try to cover a college with beeswax, but it all seems overwhelming...Thanks for sharing you wonderful art!
xoxo, Nancy

So.....ooo have you been taking lessons from the busy bees? You have so many things lined up to do this month. Which reminds me of a game I used to play with my class, in a past life when I was a teacher.......it was called busy bee......you were to grab a partner......and then the leader would say things to do together.......like create a picture, etc. etc. in a bit, with no notice, the leader would say busy bee, and everyone would buzz off to find a new partner. Sounds like something fun to do at your beeswax workshop.....partners buzzzzzing around working in groups of two and trading every so often .......everyone would sure get to know each other......but it probably would not work..because.........I'll bet everyone would be fighting to be your partner!
Congratulations........on your workshop! I know everyone is going to have a great time! How could they not?
