I will be heading to Southern California Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27 to teach two classes at Gilding the Lily, in Fullerton, Ca. They have a wonderful shop full of finished art and fantastic treasures to add to your creative works. They also offer a slate of classes each month. Dede Warren coordinates the classes and asked if Colleen Moody and I would be willing to travel down south and teach a weekend full of magic and wonder. With a resounding "Yes!" we've packed up our class samples and are getting the class descriptions all together to add to their list of monthly learning.
I will be leading the above Halloween Paper Mache Witching Hour Shoe on Saturday and then the Victorian Lady Theater on Sunday. Head to my Classes and Events page for more details.
Now, I have to toot my own horn. I was so excited to be asked to illustrate the 2009 HalloVine wine label for Madonna Estate, a Napa Valley winery.
I was so nervous, but after lots of thought and sketching, I came up with a design that I imagined on Halloween in the wine country. I actually painted two very similar versions so they had their choice of which they'd like to use. According to winery owners the Bartolucci's, it's the most colorful label they've had! Well, that's me...color all the way!
I am the fifth in the series of notable Halloween artists to create a one-of-a-kind collectible HalloVine label. The label was created for the love of Halloween and in celebration of the most "spirited" day of the year. The wine is a 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. It is the perfect wine to sip on a chilly fall evening waiting by the fire for Halloween.
You may order your HalloVine wine at my upcoming Tinsel and Treasures Art Show, Saturday, Sept. 12, and I can even sign some labels. You won't be able to actually pick up the wine at the show due to California liquor laws. Instead, it wine will be shipped to you directly. You may also order it from their website, or by visiting the winery.
Madonna Estate has a full service tasting room, where ten wine varietals may be tasted daily, with the exception of major holidays. The tasting room is open seven days a week from 10am until 5pm. The winery is located at 5400 Old Sonoma Rd. Napa, CA, on the corner of Old Sonoma Rd, and Hwy 121. You do not need an appointment for tasting. Two picnic grounds are also available for your enjoyment. For more information, you can call the winery at (866) 724-2993, or (707) 255-8864.
This wine is a must for all lovers of Halloween and wine.
Cheers to Halloween!
Love all your stuff, the wine label is great...
