Oh my! I haven't posted since mid-July and it's already the beginning of September!! Well lots of news to tell!!
My art and an article I wrote was featured in the September/October 2010 Halloween issue of Somerset Studio. Three pages in fact!!
The feature was on my Halloween hot air balloon and further in the magazine, they ran my Halloween Masquerade beeswax collage. I was so thrilled. You know I couldn't miss being in the Halloween issue, since it's my favorite "unofficial" holiday!
With that in mind, I've been busy painting my Halloween watercolors. Haunted houses, children trick or treating, black cats, witches and ghosts all make an appearance in my paintings, including a pumpkin or two.
Currently, I have an original ACEO (or small art card) available on eBay and a few larger paintings available in my Etsy shop. I have several prints on eBay now too, if you've missed the chance at purchasing one of my originals.
I'm also preparing for the Third Annual Tinsel and Treasures Folk Art Show, Saturday, September 18, in Alamo, Ca (just east of San Francisco.) We have about 20 artists exhibiting and selling their original, hand made works and it is such a magical day!
Also, Dede Warren whose art has graced the cover of Somerset Studio magazine several times will be teaching four Make and Takes that day! Each project takes only an hour and what she has in store look so fun! You can read more about them at the show blog here. I've already placed my reservation for one of the project kits! So you can shop for the first hour or so and then make some of your own hand made art. Oh, and I can't forget Gina Gabriell of Tangerine shop in Dublin, will be hosting a homemade cookie table! Shopping, art, sweets...who could ask for more?
Plus, I'll be at Glitterfest Fall this year in Southern California, Saturday, October 2! The show will offer all sorts of Halloween and Christmas art as well as many wonderful vintage style finds. It will be so nice to see all my friends and customers there!
As you can imagine, this is keeping me very busy. I hope to see you at Tinsel and Treasures or at Glitterfest in the coming weeks! Enjoy the last days of warm summer weather, before the glorious season of fall arrives!
